Terminals
Hikvision attendance terminals: integration options and compatibility
How attendance software reads a Hikvision terminal (ISAPI, file export, cloud), what to check per model and firmware, and the settings to apply first.
Hikvision terminals
Atlaxys Tempo is built for the Hikvision DS-K1T321MFWX terminal: it queries the terminal directly over your local network, imports punches, enrols and removes employees, and monitors its clock. No internet connection and no Hikvision cloud service are needed.

What is verified, and what is not yet
The requests Tempo uses worked on a real DS-K1T321MFWX (firmware V3.9.20, run of 15 October 2026), through the ISAPI code Atlaxys shares with its Gymza software. Tempo itself has been tested against a simulated terminal built on the recorded responses of this model; its acceptance test on the physical terminal is done at installation and has not been recorded yet. Capturing a face, fingerprint or card triggered from Tempo follows Hikvision’s documentation but has not yet been validated on the device.

The PC and the terminal are on the same local network (cable recommended, Wi-Fi possible). Tempo queries the terminal through its ISAPI API over HTTP with Digest authentication, or HTTPS with certificate pinning. It reads events every 2 minutes (configurable); if the PC was off, events are read when it comes back, because they stay in the terminal’s memory.
Only recognised passages (face or fingerprint accepted) become punches. Refusals and door events are kept for history but do not count as attendance. Event pictures are never requested.
One account on this model
The DS-K1T321MFWX has a single access account: Tempo uses the administrator account. If the password is refused, Tempo stops resending it to avoid locking the account; fix it, then test again.
The DS-K1T341, DS-K1T342, DS-K1T343 and DS-K1T671 families use the same protocol according to Hikvision’s documentation, but none has been tested with Tempo yet. For any other Hikvision access terminal, compatibility is unknown. Tempo reads the capabilities each terminal advertises and shows a warning for an unverified model.
Before quoting, we therefore check the exact model and firmware version. If you already own terminals, list them in your quote request.
On the terminal. By default Tempo keeps no face image and no fingerprint. An encrypted copy in Tempo — useful to enrol an employee on several terminals or rebuild a reset terminal — exists only if the employer turns the option on, after checking that their CNDP authorisation covers it. Turning it off deletes every copy.
Card numbers are stored encrypted; only the last 4 digits are displayed. See also the biometrics FAQ.
No. Tempo queries the terminal on the local network. Neither the internet nor the Hik-Connect cloud is needed; we even recommend disabling Hik-Connect if you do not use it.
They are separate Hikvision applications. Tempo does not use or connect to them. If you export punches as CSV from another application, Tempo can import that file (person, date-time).
Several, all read by the same PC. The number of terminals and employees allowed is set in the licence issued with your quote.
